Lakeland walks and rambles offer a gentler and relaxing complement to the mountain walking and mountain tours of the arena.
These lakeland walks will guide walkers around the blue lakes, pretty Austrian villages and flower-strewn meadows of the Zugspitze arena. There are numerous ideal places for picnicking and shopping close to the lakesides and Lakeland walking routes; and the lakes present rare opportunities for natural photography or the chance to observe the local wildife. The lakeland environment and its surrounding meadows is also home to a prodigious family of alpine flowers.
